Deeper work for lasting change.

IFS therapy in North Carolina

You’ve tried everything, and nothing is working.

You know how to get through tough things, but those skills aren’t working here. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed and exhausted because your mind never stops. You might not even be able to remember the last time you were able to relax or get a good night’s sleep. Everything feels like it’s spinning out of control and you are finding it harder and harder to function.

Perhaps you’re still feeling…

Frustrated by your inability to live the life you want.

Disconnected and alone.

Overwhelmed by guilt, anxiety and exhaustion.

IFS therapy can help you do deep work that resolves these symptoms.

IFS therapy is an evidence-based method that goes beyond traditional talk therapy for deeper healing and lasting change.

  • IFS therapy is an approach that welcomes all the different parts of you.

    The anxious parts.

    The critical parts.

    The angry parts.

The parts that are skeptical about whether therapy can actually help you.

    The hopeless parts.

The parts you never let anyone see.

You’ve tried ignoring these parts, telling them to shut up, and drowning them out with everything from positive affirmations, to Netflix, to ice cream. Maybe it’s helped a little, but not enough. You are ready for real change.

IFS therapy can help understand yourself in a radically different way. This is the first step to finding more peace, more Self-compassion, more joy, more relaxation and more out of this life.

  • The first thing we will do is a free 15- minute consultation. This gives us a chance to ask each other questions and see if this feels like a good fit. I will ask about your goals for counseling, and answer any questions you have working together.

Our first session will be information gathering. We will talk about your history, any diagnoses and what you want to work on.

In our second session I will begin to help you start to explore your inner world so you can begin to understand yourself in a new way.

  • You will have the opportunity to get to know yourself in a whole new way that can change the way you relate to yourself and others. One that can help you to understand yourself better and heal the wounds from your past.

Healing these wounds allows you freedom. Freedom to be yourself, to find peace, and to go after the life you have always wanted.

At the end of the day, I want you to know:

Lasting change is possible. You don’t have to settle for being stuck in survival mode.

FAQs

  • You don’t need to know anything about IFS therapy in order to get started. In fact, it’s more common for me to work with people who have never heard of IFS than it is to work with people who are familiar with it when we start working together. I will teach what you need to know as we go along.

  • The short answer is a lot. I love this model and train constantly. As of December 2023 I have completed over 400 hours of training and over 1000 hours of working as a counselor using this model. I have also spent a significant amount of time teaching this model to other counselors and practitioners.

IFS Level 1 (April -December 2022)

This is the gold standard for IFS training. It consists of over 100 hours of lectures, experiential exercises, video review, large and small group discussions, as well as small group supervision and practice sessions.

    IFS Level 1 as a PA (February-June 2023)

I had the opportunity to work as a program assistant teaching the model to other clinicians.

    IFS Level 2 Training (August-September 2023)

Level 2 training allows for the opportunity to go deeper into specific subjects within IFS. I was able to attend Shame, Anxiety and Depression as these are all emotions I work with frequently.

My Own Personal Work (January 2021-present)

I started using this model as a client in January 2021 and was almost instantly hooked. I don’t just lead others through the motions of doing this work, I am doing it myself too, both with a counselor and as a part of my own daily practice.

In addition to these trainings I have also done countless additional trainings in specialty areas, attended both group and individual supervision and read numerous books, listening to podcasts, attending consultation groups with other clinicians etc.

  • Generally speaking, most insurances will cover IFS therapy when offered in 55 minute sessions either weekly or biweekly.

I accept most forms of BCBS. If you have a type of BCBS I accept, I will file claims for you.

If you have another insurance provider, you may have out of network benefits. I can provide you with a form that will guide you through a phone call with your insurance company to see if you do have those benefits and how to access them. I am also happy to provide you with a Superbill that you can send to your insurance provider to see if they can reimburse you for part of the session fees.
